In 2015, Grace successfully applied for a Community Heritage Grant for a Preservation Needs Assessment of the Albert Park-South Melbourne Rowing Club’s memorabilia collection. This assessment is made by a qualified conservator who conducts an investigation into the Club’s collection and results in a report with specific recommendations for further action for the long-term preservation of the memorabilia. The Club appointed Jude Fraser from the Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation to conduct the assessment.
As grant writer and project manager for this grant, Grace was responsible for liaising with the committee and the conservator, making the collection and related documents available, as well as responding to queries, keeping the committee up-to-date, proof-reading the report, and acquitting the grant.
Community Heritage Grants are funded by the Australian Government and supported by the National Library of Australia, the Department of Communications and the Arts, the National Film and Sound Archive, the National Archives of Australia, and the National Museum of Australia.
